Last week, winds reaching almost 100 miles per hour splintered telephone poles and scattered ancient trees everywhere, forever changing the landscape of Los Angeles. Pasadena was one of the worst hit areas, and sadly Lenkin Gardens has lost some its most venerable trees, with at least one resting on the roof. Fortunately, everyone, including our four-legged friends, has escaped harm, though it’s safe to say we’re a bit discombobulated.
Five days later, the gardens are still littered with power lines and massive tree trunks. But we’ve already begun the cleanup process, and there’s no doubt we’ll all be surprised by how resilient a garden can be. Even though Nature has torn down much of the beauty we’re surrounded by, we also know she will build it back up again.
Oh Heather, I am so sorry for the garden but glad to hear that all four-leggeds were safe. I hope the house did not sustain to much damage. Hoping you are all well. Also, congratulations on Bill getting married. I am so happy for him. Miss you all so much and think of you often.
